Care Instructions
Plated jewelry, as the name suggests, has a thin layer of precious metal (ie silver, gold, rhodium, platinum) over a base metal (ie brass, stainless steel, titanium or iron ).
Since the precious metal layer is very thin, friction between your skin and the plated jewelry can slowly rub off the plating.
To take care of plated jewelry, you should:
- Limit the exposure to water, soap, perfume, lotion and other chemicals. If the jewelry is exposed, wipe it immediately with a soft cloth.
- Avoid getting the jewelry wet with your sweat. Remove the jewelry when you are going to engage in some strenuous physical activity and while you are sleeping.
- Store the jewelry in a cool dry place.
Sterling Sliver is created when copper is added to pure sliver. The jewelry piece is usually 92.5% pure sliver, hence the 925 marking, and 7.5% copper.
To take care of your sterling sliver jewelry, you can try the following:
- Store in a cool dry place.
- To clean use a few drops of mild dishwashing soup and warm water. After bubble are created sock pieces for about 5 minutes. Pat dry with a microfiber towel. Note: We recommend not using a paper towels as scratches could appear.
